Anime

Anime has such a unique way of artistically portraying their stories to viewers, and each anime has its own artistic style that I thoroughly enjoy. The plots are often more intriguing than regular cartoons on television, and often are quite humorous. I hope to further expand my repertoire of anime, and always on the lookout for new ones. Suggestions are welcomed! * Anything bold I highly recommend these titles for others to watch, and are absolutely my faves!

Recently Completed Anime: Reviews

The Legend of Korra (5 stars)

Bolder. Mordern. Girl Becomes Self. Deep.

A show that truly made me reflect about myself.

Beyond the Boundary (5 stars)

Beyond the Boundary.

Crossing boundaries in story lines, score music and beautiful illustrations.

Interestingly it was on my list of to watch animes. Glad I finally got around to it. To be honest, what really drew me to this anime was the poster. But the storyline that emerges is nowhere anything I expected. The shows description was simple. But I. Glad they kept it that way, made the viewing experience that more intriguing. I really liked the blossoming friendship between basically two outcasts. Each character also had their own little story and I really grew to like Miromi. Besides the story growing deeper and deeper with each episode, there was some humor along the way. The last six episodes had me second guessing whether I really liked the show or not. After finishing the anime Natsuuuki Rendezvous I was really hoping for a good ending to a show. Beyond boundaries dis cross boundaries. Even the artwork and score music were superb. Beyond the boy, dart has definitely made my top list of animes, and I'm actually looking to rewatch a few episodes. P.S when watching this show you really have to pay attention. Everything pieces together in the end. Oh yes and to top tit off, they're going to be releasing a Beyond the Boundary film which is set to release next year.

I rate this anime 5/5 stars .

Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day (5 stars)

Absolutely compelling and touching anime.

Can be compared to Clannad, and has been, however in my opinion it was far better than Clannad and I preferred the ending and the progression of the story. Also I felt was a bit dragged on in comparison to this 11 episode anime Anohana. This show can be easily watched in one day ('tis what I did lol) and you can't help but grow to love or dislike and sympathize with the characters. A brief synopsis:  Menma, a childhood friend has passed away and her group of friend all struggle to cope with her death differently. However, Menma's ghost is seen by one of her childhood friends Jintan (also Yadomi) and together all the friends reunite once more to grant Menma's last dying wish.

P.S In regards to the Clannad comparison, I have yet to watch the Clannad After Story nor do I plan to, I am simply comparing it to the first part.

Hanasakeru Seishonen ( 5+ stars)

I haven't seen an anime this well crafted and deep since Full Metal Alchemist.

The story revolves around a 14 year old island girl named Kajika Burnsworth. She and her father enter into an agreement to play the husband game, for which the father has selected 5 candidates and she is to decide who she is to marry. Now, reading this description (myself included), portrays a somewhat shallow storyline. But boy was I wrong. Each character has their own conflicting issues in which intertwines somehow with Kajika. Not only that, the story goes much deeper than a simple shojo-romance anime, it reveals the political issues at hand in a monarchy torn country Raginei as well as how far one will go to be loyal in addition to the influence of religion. Too much occurs in this anime to fully explain. Interestingly, I started to watch this anime months ago and stopped because I thought it was silly. I'm glad I gave it a second shot. This is now on my list of fave animes, I highly recommend this anime to everyone.
